Endnote (ENG): EndNote Online

EndNote Online

EndNote has both a desktop and an online component. EndNote users can sync all references in one desktop library to their online library, AND share the entire library with other EndNote users. If the desktop component is synchronized with EndNote Online, the online library can contain an unlimited number of references and attachments.

The benefits of synchronization are:
You automatically have a backup of your EndNote Library
You can give others access to your EndNote Library
You can also view references from another computer

EndNote Online can be accessed in two ways:
1. Open the EndNote Desktop version and click on Help -> Endnote Online
2. Go directly to https://myendnoteweb.com

HOW DO I SYNC ENDNOTE DESKTOP WITH ONLINE?

An EndNote Online account can be properly registered and connected to the EndNote Desktop license in the following way:
1. Open Endnote Desktop
2. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Sync
3. Click "Enable sync"
4. a. Click "Sign up" if you have not yet created an Online account (see image below).
4. b. Do you already have an Online account? Then enter your HAN email address and password.

5. The library you created is already filled in for the "Sync this Endnote Library" option. If not, this will be done automatically within the hour.

6. Make sure that "Sync Automatically" is switched to "on". Synchronization of data (between Desktop and Online) will then occur automatically.
7. At the bottom, click "OK".
8. From now on, synchronization will be automatic, but should you wish to do it yourself in between, you can do so via Library -> Sync.
