If you want to remove an EndNote reference from Word, do NOT use the backspace (as the reference will simply reappear), but follow these steps:
1.Highlight the quote in the Word document you want to delete.
2. Go to the "EndNote" tab and select “Edit & Manage Citation(s)”.
3. A window appears with a list of the citations you have entered into your manuscript so far. The citation you highlighted will be highlighted in blue.
4. Select the “Edit Reference” tab next to the citation and choose “Remove Citation”.
