Endnote (ENG): Collect references

Collect References

There are three ways to add literature to EndNote

Option 1: from the source itself
If you find an article online, you can save the title information (and often the full text) directly in EndNote with EndNote Click. When this extension recognizes an article on a website, the button below appears. Clicking that button takes you to the EndNote Click Locker, where you find an option Push to EndNote account.

EndNote Click is available for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Follow the steps in the installation guide.

Option 2: import from a database or search engine
You can export search results from a search engine (PubMed, Scopus, etc.) and then import them into EndNote. You do this, for example, when systematically collecting literature on a topic.
1. Export your search results. The options vary by search engine; you can find them under export, send to or citation manager, for example. Save the file as a .ris or bibtex file.
2. Import the above file into EndNote via File -> Import.
Make sure the import option is properly chosen (there is a separate import filter for many search engines) and specify what you want to do with duplicate titles.

Option 3: manually
If other options are not available, you can also add sources manually. In EndNote, go to Reference -> New Reference or click on the button
