International Social Work (EN): 5. Publish and communicate

Libguide for students of the course International Social Work.

Publish and communicate

In the previous steps you found reliable information and organised and processed it in your project. After finishing your project the last step is to communicate it to the outside world. There are several possibilities in which this can be achieved.

Although an important step in Information Literacy, publishing and communicating projects is less common in the first few years of your study. This step is therefore brief in this libguide.

Types of products

A final product could be presented in any format you deem fitting. This often depends on your assignment. Possible products are an advisory report, an informational video or even a workshop. In all of these different formats literature can be used to shape your product.

Handing in products

The HAN uses the program HANdin as a place to hand in student products. it can be accessed through the black menu bar in Brightspace. A plagiarism checker is built in in the program to verify whether the project is fully original.

Final theses that are graded with a 7 or higher can also be published in the HBO kennisbank. This allows other people both within and outside the HAN to read your work. A published thesis can be a nice addition to a résumé after graduating. Publishing in the HBO kennisbank requires filling in the admission form below. Contact the library for more information about publishing your thesis.
