We work mainly for the technical academies. The physical study centre, with its collection of books and journals in the fields of engineering and economics, is located in the FEM building at Ruitenberglaan 31. This location also offers (quiet) study areas.
The collection of books and journals for the Institute of Applied Biosciences and Chemistry can be found in the study centre at Kapittelweg 33. Robert Benjamins is the information expert for this degree course.
The digital collection of e-books, journal articles and other digital content can be found on our website HAN Library.

In addition to managing and maintaining the physical and digital collections in the library, we organise information skills workshops and classes for various Engineering courses. These classes teach students how to search for information online and in the databases managed by the HAN Library, and how to apply the information they find in reports, according to the APA style guide.
You can read more about this in the next chapter.

What are information skills?
Information skills involves searching for, finding, assessing and using information.
With English subtitles
A literature review is an ongoing, self-guided process. The following steps must be performed one or more times in order to develop a reliable literature review. The writing process has been incorporated to some extent into these steps.
It's important that you document from the very start the steps you take in your search for information. This will help you structure the search process and prevent you from losing sight of the bigger picture.
By keeping track of your steps, you can adjust your activities during your search and maintain a clear overview of the search terms and sources you've already used. Writing down your search progress and search results will make it easier to find this information later on.
It's also important for your assessors to understand your search process and results when grading your final product. Your assessors must be able to see how you searched for and found the information you used.
